Squarespace booking guide

How to add booking to a Squarespace sitewithout changing platforms.

Keep your Squarespace design. Add ZenSched as a booking link, popup, bottom-corner bubble or inline booking widget so clients can book from your existing website.

    The essentials

    What you actually get

    1. 01

      Simple button setup

Use your ZenSched Smart Slug as the destination for any Squarespace button, navigation link or services-page call to action.

    2. 02

      Widget for code blocks

Add the versioned ZenSched script to a Squarespace code block when you want popup, bubble or inline booking on the page.

    3. 03

      Custom intake questions

Collect the details your business needs before the appointment, from pet breed to session goals or preferred style.

    4. 04

      Real availability

ZenSched checks service duration, staff hours, buffers, capacity and existing appointments before a slot can be booked.

    Setup

Set it up in five steps

    1. 01

Build your booking page in ZenSched

Set up services, business hours, staff, custom intake fields and the public booking page branding.

    2. 02

Copy your Smart Slug or widget snippet

Use the Smart Slug for a normal Squarespace button. Use the widget snippet for popup, bubble or inline booking.

    3. 03

      Open your Squarespace editor

Go to the page where booking intent is highest, usually services, home, contact or a dedicated booking page.

    4. 04

Add the link or code block

Paste the Smart Slug into a button link, or add the ZenSched script and widget markup inside a Squarespace code block.

    5. 05

      Publish and test

Open the live Squarespace page, complete a test booking, then confirm the appointment and emails in ZenSched.

    FAQ

    Questions people ask

Can Squarespace use an external booking widget?+

Yes. You can link to ZenSched from any button, or use a code block for the widget if your Squarespace plan supports custom code blocks.

    Should I use a link or widget?+

Use a link if you want the fastest setup. Use the widget if you want booking to happen from the same Squarespace page.

Can the booking page match my Squarespace brand?+

Yes. Upload your logo and set booking colors and fonts in ZenSched so the booking flow feels connected to your site.

Can clients choose a staff member?+

Yes. You can show a staff picker with specific staff members or an Anyone option, and ZenSched only shows real availability.

    How do reminders work?+

ZenSched sends a confirmation email the moment a client books and a reminder email before the appointment. Sends run on a queue so they never block a booking.

How do you prevent double bookings?+

The public booking endpoint is transactional and rate limited. It validates the full service duration against staff hours, existing appointments and capacity in a single call, so two clients hitting the same slot cannot both win.

Can I take deposits or payments through the booking page?+

Not today. ZenSched focuses on the calendar and the booking experience. Payment collection is on the roadmap; for now most customers collect payment in person or through their existing processor.
